The Rural Development Institute in collaboration with Swami Rama Himalayan University has introduced two short-term (3 months) integrated courses for rural youth, focusing on Data Entry Operator cum Office Assistant and Plumber cum Electrician training. These comprehensive courses aim to equip participants with diverse skills, enhancing their job prospects and fostering local development.
The Honorable President of Swami Rama Himalayan University inaugurated both courses on 7th May 2024 and emphasized that these courses will make a difference for rural youth. He also said that integrating both courses will increase the chances of sustainable employment for the youth. Welcoming the participants, the President said that the students have a wonderful opportunity to utilize the university’s resources, services, and expertise without paying any course fees.
The Data Entry Operator cum Office Assistant course focuses on developing proficiency in data entry software, MS Office applications, and essential office management skills. Trainees learn to handle administrative tasks, maintain accurate records, and manage databases efficiently. These skills are in high demand due to the increasing digitization of workplaces, enabling participants to secure positions in various sectors. Additionally, this training empowers individuals with communication skills in the English language.
The Plumber cum Electrician course offers practical training in plumbing and electrical work, crucial for maintaining infrastructure in rural areas.
