A felicitation ceremony was held at the Shankaracharya Hospital on 30th November, 2013 by HIHT in collaboration with AmeriCares. The Hon’ble Chief Guest Sh. Surendra Singh Negi, Minister of Health, Uttarakhand said that the contribution of Himalayan Institute Hospital Trust & AmeriCares at the time of Flash Floods in Uttarakhand (June 2013) is invaluable and expressed gratitude on behalf of the Uttarakhand Govt.
Mr. Negi handed over the healthcare relief material to the District Magistrates (DM) of Rudraprayag and Chamoli at a ceremony in Rudraprayag today. He also felicitated the local volunteers, ASHA Members and NGO partners for their work in the recent disaster.
In the last 6 months, 76 health campus were organized covering 8142 survivors and 6,750 mother care kits, 4,000 winter/family care kits to help at least 12,000 individuals, 3000 ‘Clean Delivery Kits’ to facilitate emergency home-deliveries, safety gear to 500 road construction workers and school stationary kits for 500 children distributed apart from up-gradation of 31 healthcare facilities (Rudraprayag & Chamoli).
